Screen Veil visual

Built-in presets for work, AI, media, and meeting sites — plus “protect this site” for the page you're on.

What Screen Veil does

Auto-protect on idle

Blur selected tabs when you're idle, switch away, or manually trigger quick lock.

Protect AI chats and work apps

Use built-in presets for Gmail, Docs, Notion, Slack, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and more.

Protect the current site instantly

If a site isn't in the presets, open the popup and protect the current domain in one click.

Playback-aware media protection

When a video is actively playing, Screen Veil treats that as activity. When playback stops and you're idle, protection can kick in.

Adjust blur strength

Choose a lighter or heavier blur depending on screen size, viewing distance, and sensitivity.

Local-first by design

Settings stay in extension storage on your device. Screen Veil does not upload your page content to our servers.

How it works

  1. Install Screen Veil and choose your PIN.
  2. Turn protection on for built-in presets or the current site.
  3. When you step away, the page blurs until you unlock it locally.

FAQ

Does Screen Veil upload my emails, documents, or AI chats?

No. Screen Veil is designed to keep that content on your device. It applies the overlay locally and stores settings locally.

Can it blur the browser tab strip or address bar?

No. Standard Chrome extensions can blur page content, but not Chrome's own browser UI such as tabs and the address bar.

Can I protect a site that isn't built in?

Yes. Use the popup on the page you're currently viewing and choose to protect the current domain.

Which languages are supported in the extension?

Auto, Korean, English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
